Timber Frames in Green Oak, Larch or Douglas Fir.
Treewrights make and erect traditional timber frames for all types of
buildings, including new build houses, barn conversions, extensions,
conservatories and garages. Each frame is built using traditional
carpentry techniques, with hand cut joints secured with timber pegs. No
two frames are identical.
Treewrights encourage the inclusion of
natural curves - creating cruck houses or sling brace trusses - within
the frame at an early stage of the design process.
The company was founded in 1994 and is owned and run by Nick Pye.
Treewrights work mainly with self builders and take
care to ensure that each frame is right for the client and meets the
clients expectations. They take time to explain to each client all the
different design options that are available to them and the difference
between different styles of frame. They dont have a standard product
range, and are flexible in their design approach in order to realise
clients dreams.
The actual making of each frame takes between two and
eight weeks depending on the complexity of the design. Waiting lists
vary and Treewrights are usually very busy in spring. They encourage
clients to put down a deposit to guarantee a delivery time that suits
their schedule. Erection on site is generally quick, often complete
within three days.
Outdoor Furniture for Parks and Gardens.
Treewrights also make garden furniture, including oak tables, benches,
seats, shelters and signposts. Oak is ideal for outdoor furniture
because its both strong and durable.
They are happy to build items of furniture to your design specification or to work up designs for clients if required.
Wooden Bridges. Treewrights also make beautiful wooden bridges for parks and gardens.
