Heartwood Timber Frames specialise in the design, construction and erection of hand-crafted, heavy structural timber frame buildings.

Based near Edinburgh, we work directly with clients, architects, structural engineers, main contractors and affiliated experts on projects throughout the UK. We value working as part of a design-build team contributing our specialist skills and knowledge to each project.

Design: Drawing from our extensive knowledge and significant practical experience of traditional and modern heavy structural timber frames, we design our frames using state-of-the-art CAD software and incorporate appropriate traditional joinery, contemporary techniques and materials that comply with modern building standards.

Buildings: Our portfolio ranges from traditional oak frame houses, garden rooms, conservatories, and garages to contemporary timber frames for commercial and domestic projects nationwide.

Timber: We use locally sourced timber for our frames and support the Forestry Stewardship Council scheme by using accredited Oak, Larch & Douglas Fir from sustainable sources wherever possible.
