About the journal

ASHS produce the Full Circle journal as a balanced look at the Scottish hardwood and premium softwood industry as a whole.

We aim to make our issues as varied as possible across the working field - for diversity and interest. Articles are collected from a range of sources and the journal is distributed amongst ASHS membership and general public subscription holders.

Journal frequency

ASHS release two editions of the Full Circle each year, roughly staggered for Spring & Autumn, or Summer & Winter.

Subscription rate

Subscriptions cost £14 per year.

Subscription & direct debit information

Subscriptions are collected once per year by direct debit on the 5th April.

When you sign up for the journal mid-year, you will be charged your subscription on sign up and will be sent any journals that have already been released that year.

ASHS use GoCardless to manage all direct debits for our organisation - membership payments as well as Full Circle subscription. You can learn more about GoCardless on their website.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Our direct debits for subscriptions renew on the 5th April each year, inline with the ASHS financial calendar.

    If you set up your subscription after this date, ASHS will set up a one time payment to collect your fees once you’ve signed up. You will then be sent any journals that you missed that year.

    For example: if you join in August and there was a Spring journal released in May that year, you will be charged your subscription payment on sign up and will receive a copy of the May issue in the post.

    When the Autumn issue is ready for distribution, you will receive that as normal. Your direct debit will then continue to renew on the 5th April each year.

  • To report a change in address, please email coordinator@ashs.co.uk

  • You can make changes to your subscription (such as cancelling you direct debit) through your account with GoCardless, simply log in to GoCardless to make any required changes.

    Alternatively, ASHS can cancel your direct debit on our end - contact coordinator@ashs.co.uk to request this.

  • ASHS use GoCardless to manage all subscription payments - for membership renewals as well as The Full Circle.

    Your direct debit is managed through a mandate with GoCardless. When you set up your subscription, you will be asked to create an account with GoCardless. This account is yours and is not linked to ASHS in any way and ASHS do not gain access to your bank details.

    Your subscription can be managed through your GoCardless account. ASHS are able to take certain actions on your direct debit - such as cancelling, pausing, or delaying your subscription payment; or setting up one time payments on your account.

    GoCardless will always notify you of any changes to your mandate, and you can cancel your subscription at any time via your GoCardless account.
