People make ASHS - we’re owned and managed by our members
At ASHS we are a community of like-minded individuals and businesses, sharing a passion for the betterment of Scotland’s trees, forests and its home-grown timber-using industries.
Together we aim to raise the awareness and demand for this fantastic home-grown resource, thereby providing follow-on benefits to local communities, economies and the environment.
Interested in becoming a part of ASHS?
Membership is open to anyone that is involved or interested in the Scottish timber, forestry and wood using industries – not just sawmillers!
We bring together members from across the spectrum – from land owners, to foresters, to timber processors and timber users.
We started as a community of sawmillers, but have grown to include all the links in this chain of industries, which has both enriched our organisation and become one of our greatest strengths.
Types of membership
ASHS is made up of 2 different membership types; Full or Associate.
If you’re not interested in becoming a member but still want to support the organisation and keep up to date with ASHS activities, we also have a subscription-only membership for the ASHS journal, the Full Circle.
